Battle of Britain
The Battle of Britain was an air battle which took place between the fall of France in May 1940 and the cancellation of Operation Sea Lion (the planned invasion of Britain) in October 1940.

The British won the battle through a combination of superior tactics, the advantage of fighting on home-ground, greater aircraft production and of course, the bravery and skill of the RAF servicemen and women themselves. If the Battle of Britain had been won by the Germans, it is commonly perceived that they would have successfully invaded and occupied Britain, and causing Churchill to say after the battle that 'Never in the field of Human Conflict had so much been owed by so many to so few'.

Obverse
A Crowned Wreath with RAF Eagle Logo in the centre.
The inscription reads:
BATTLE OF BRITAIN COMMEMORATING 25 YEARS

Reverse
A top-down view of a Spitfire surrounded by Churchill's famous line encapsulating the importance of the Battle of Britain.

"NEVER IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN CONFLICT WAS SO MUCH OWED BY SO MANY TO SO FEW"
