This 2010 New Zealand $5 silver proof coin commemorates Maui's dolphin (Cephalorhynchus hectori maui), one of the world's rarest marine dolphins. Struck in 1oz of .999 fine silver by the Royal Dutch Mint, the reverse features a detailed design of two Maui's dolphins leaping from stylized waves, while the obverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Limited to just 4,000 pieces worldwide, this example is numbered 697 and comes complete with original packaging and certificate.
