The obverse shows the duchess holding her newborn son, with her late husbands bust in the right background. The legend says GOD HAS GIVEN US and OUR HEARTS AND OUR ARMS TO HIM. The reverse shows St. Michael defeating the devil, and the birth-date (the feast of St. Michael) 29 Sept. 1820.
