Description
This 1906 20 Mark gold coin was issued by the Grand Duchy of Hesse under the German Empire. The obverse shows a left-facing portrait of Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig with the inscription "ERNST LUDWIG GROSSHERZOG VON HESSEN". The reverse features the crowned imperial eagle, "DEUTSCHES REICH 1906", and "20 MARK". Minted in Berlin (mint mark A) in .900 fine gold, this historic coin displays sharp details with light circulation wear visible in the photos.
