The finest 1970 Gem Specimen set that we have seen or handled since we opened our first coin store in 1972. As well, the set came from a Chinese Diplomat that actually received this set as a gift from Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau during his 1970 Official China diplomatic tour.
All six coins are Guaranteed to Certify at a minimum grade of SPECIMEN-66,(SP66), by any professional third party grader.
All six Gem Specimen-66+ coins in this set are in their original Official CANADA leather Case as issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa. Note: The outer cardboard box for this set is not available. We estimate an official distribution to be less than 400. although there are claims that 1000 were officially made.
